Rome Technopole – Innovation Ecosystem

Project objectives

Rome Technopole – Innovation Ecosystem is the response of the Universities and production systems present in Lazio, but of primary national interest, to the strong demands that come from the needs of relaunch and the opportunities offered by the Next Generation EU project and fits coherently along all three strategic axes of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan shared at European level: digitalization and innovation, ecological transition and social inclusion. The objective is to respond to the political objectives aimed at making the Italian country a leader in innovation. With the creation of the Rome Technopole we intend to:

  • provide the central area of ​​the Italian country with a multi-technological transdisciplinary hub for training, research, technology transfer, contributing, integrating the knowledge and skills of universities and the research community with the needs of the industrial sector; increase investments in research and development, both public and private; compete at national and international level on the technological frontier, on dimensional growth in particular in technology transfer and in the strategic European value chains, with a strong involvement of companies, focusing on the most advanced supply chains; promote the policy of social inclusion and the mission of social elevator of the university education system, facilitating for all young people and women access to new quality job opportunities in the driving sectors of the ecological and digital transition and agro-biopharmaceuticals; make the offer of STEM university training in Central-Southern Italy stronger and more articulated in thematic areas absolutely complementary to those of the consolidated Polytechnics of Northern Italy (Milan and Turin).
