3D Muscle-Tendon Unit Modelling for Unravelling Tissue Crosstalk in Muscular Dystrophies and Aging

Project objectives

The project aims to evaluate the impact of multiple pathologies on the biochemical, structural and mechanical properties of the muscle-tendon unit, build a three-dimensional model that mimics the muscle-tendon unit and evaluate in this model how the macroenvironment influences the muscle unit -tendinous itself. Information on the microenvironment and secretome of muscle and tendon cells will be acquired by performing proteomic, biochemical and structural analyses.
