GENCO Study of GENEtic variability in the response to COVID-19 infection

Multicenter study on pressure ulcers in hospice patients: prevalence, incidence and associated factors

Project objectives

This study aims to re-evaluate the genes already identified in previous studies and to analyze new candidate genes, related to the immune and inflammatory response, analyzing family groups in which, at the same exposure, considerable clinical variability was observed, from the asymptomatic state to medium/high severity state. 21 families were analyzed for a total of 105 subjects with a panel of 40 genes. Another objective is to validate the results of the first phase, in particular the variants associated with severe forms, highlighting their frequency in a larger cohort of COVID-positive subjects, around 300.
