Prospective randomized clinical trial on the influence of patellar resurfacing on postoperative anterior pain and functional scores in knee replacement
Project objectives
The restoration of normal joint function and the resolution of painful symptoms are the main objectives of total knee replacement (PTG). Although 15-year survival rates are greater than 90%, patellofemoral complications are among the main factors leading to revision prosthetics, with anterior pain accounting for approximately 13% of all revision causes. Patellar component implantation in PTG is still a hotly debated topic.
The aim of the project is to carry out a prospective randomized clinical study comparing postoperative anterior pain and functional scores in patients undergoing knee replacement with and without patellar replacement.
