Adaptation and tolerance of plants to abiotic stresses in changing environmental conditions

Project objectives

The main objective of this project is to explore the relationship that exists between environmental parameters, in particular light, tolerance to some abiotic stresses and genotype using biological models such as Arabidopsis thaliana and rice. The research plan outlined below will allow us to (i) broaden the basic knowledge of the physiological and molecular mechanisms linking adaptation to the environment and tolerance to stress and (ii) study genotypes of rice, a species of large agronomic interest for Italy, more resistant, resilient and adapted to an environment that changes over time.
