Actions on Food Supplements, exposure of fake (non)genuine food, e-Learn platforming, Pesticide Action, Operation On Our Sites and JAD
Project objectives |
ASKLEPIOS addresses the most important threats for European consumers. Indeed, low risks and high profitability increasingly attract organised crime groups to the illicit trade of substandard goods and goods that infringe intellectual property rights. Counterfeit products, such as food supplements, can cause significant harm to the health and safety of consumers and even cause casualties. Counterfeit goods also have a significant environmental impact. For example, counterfeit pesticides contain many untested active substances, which can contaminate soil and surface water. Furthermore, fraud is largely facilitated by the availability of enhanced technological and communication tools where individuals and companies are increasingly targeted online. |
