DAAT Finder - Estimation of the national requirement for alpha 1 antitrypsin through screening of the affected population using the electrophoretic protodogram at the Italian transfusion network

Project objectives

Primary endpoint:

• Estimation of the national requirement for alpha-1-antitrypsin 

Secondary endpoints:

1.  Identify subjects with reduced alpha 1 globulin values ​​(≤2,6%) to be subjected to further investigation by nephelometric alpha 1 antitrypsin assay
2.  Determine the genotype using techniques isoelectrofocusing, genotyping and possible sequencing
3.  Implement the follow-up of subjects with DAAT documentation
