Project objectives
The reverse shoulder prosthesis has recently considerably increased its diffusion, but to date the literature on prosthetic shoulder surgery is scarce and not very exhaustive. In particular, there are no indications on what advantages and what consequences there are in positioning the glenoid and humeral components with different angulations and reciprocal lateralizations. Different patterns of load transfer between bone and prosthesis can influence the duration of the prosthetic implant and therefore the failure rate. The aim of the study is to verify the implications of lateralization of the humeral component and the glenoid component on periprosthetic humeral and glenoid bone remodeling.
