I-NIC

A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy of pulsed low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-MF) in patients with acute cerebral ischemia.

Project objectives

The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pulsed ELF-MF in the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke. Specifically, the effects of ELF-MF on the extent of the ischemic area measured by magnetic resonance imaging and on functional recovery using validated clinical scales will be assessed. Furthermore, the study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of the experimental treatment.
