A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicentric study to evaluate the efficacy of low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (ELF-MF) in patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke
Project Objectives
The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ELF-MF delivered in pulsed mode for the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke. In particular, the effects of ELF-MF will be evaluated by measuring the size of the ischemic area by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and functional recovery assessed by means of clinical scales. Furthermore, this study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of this experimental treatment.
