The project
HOPE is a patient-focused project aimed at changing the way patients with chronic low back pain (LBP) are monitored and managed. This innovative paradigm is based on the development of a non-invasive, easy-to-use technology platform for personalizing treatment for each patient. HOPE technology consists of a wearable system for continuous monitoring of patient and environmental parameters, a tool for real-time data collection and storage, and human-computer and doctor-patient interfaces. Vibration technology provides tactile feedback to discourage patients from adopting poor posture and engaging in inappropriate physical activity.
This patient-focused technology paradigm will provide a valid alternative and complement to conventional therapies by providing personalized solutions for patients with LBP, enabling a reduction in healthcare costs and promoting active aging.
