Effect of temperature on the contractility of human colon strips. A study on the pathogenesis of paralytic ileus.
Project objectivesThe research aims to study the electrophysiological response of human intestinal tissue to external stimuli, such as exposure to environmental agents (temperature), involved in the etiopathogenesis of digestive tract diseases such as paralytic ileus. Furthermore, it aims to develop predictive mathematical models based on experimental data, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Mathematical Models at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna.Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, coordinated by Prof. Simonetta Filippi. |
