Role of PDW and MPV in the classification of severity and prognosis of the elderly patient with heart failure
Project objectivesRetrospective study aimed at evaluating whether the indices of platelet variability and size are associated with a greater severity of heart failure in the elderly patient, in particular with worse systolic and diastolic function, high NT-proBNP values, a greater number of hospitalizations and higher mortality. Preliminary results have documented that there is a positive association between PDW and MPV and NT-proBNP and ejection fraction. |
