The project
The SAFE-MOVER project (User-centered design of a robotic device for improving working conditions and user subjective perspective during patient-handling movements) aims to develop an innovative device for moving patients in hospital settings. The system will reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders affecting healthcare workers. The design will be based on a user-centered approach thanks to an in-depth analysis of patient-healthcare worker interaction. The project is coordinated by the Biomedical Robotics and Biomicrosystems Unit in collaboration with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit and the Nursing Sciences Unit. The project will involve DiMEILA, the Department of Medicine, Epidemiology, Occupational and Environmental Hygiene at INAIL, and the IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia as end users.
