Study of new pathogenetic mechanisms for neurodegenerative diseases

Project objectives

The general objective of the projects is the study of new pathogenetic mechanisms for neurodegenerative diseases and in particular for diseases determined by alpha-synuclein and known as alpha-synucleinopathies. These pathologies are studied on animal models and on biological samples of patients with Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonisms and involve reactive modifications of the glia associated with tissue remodeling and functional alterations at the brain level and associated organ systems.
