Study of the role of CD30 in the pathogenesis of Sjogren's syndrome, its correlation with clinical characteristics and its role as a new biomarker
Project objectives
Translational study to evaluate the expression of CD30 on B and T lymphocytes within ectopic lymphoid structures in the salivary glands of patients with Sjogren's syndrome and its correlation with the clinical and laboratory characteristics of the patients. Furthermore, the aim of the study is to evaluate its serum concentration as a possible diagnostic and prognostic biomarker of lymphoid tissue organization within the salivary glands.
