Project objectives
Qualification of the first home robotic telerehabilitation platform for neurological patients. It is called ICONE and was created to overcome the limits imposed by the pandemic, thanks to the functionalization of an existing robotic system that lends itself to home applications. Today, robotic rehabilitation offers the possibility of increasing the number of repeated movements over time, guarantees greater objectivity and standardization in protocols
of treatment and better results. ICONE is the only rehabilitation robot that reaches the patient at home. Simple to use even by non-clinical personnel, it has an intuitive graphic interface, with a very rapid patient setup (5-10 minutes). Equipped with cloud connection, it allows the
Haexel staff to intervene remotely (for technical support) and medical staff to monitor patients directly from their office (telerehabilitation). The robot is transportable, using a cart or dedicated trolley, weighs 32 kg and has a small footprint; it can therefore reach the patient wherever they are. For each new intervention it does not require installation or assistance from technical staff and is easily sanitized. The planned RSI interventions are: optimization of the robotic platform for use in telerehabilitation; definition of a teleconsultation and telerehabilitation protocol; integration with commercial devices for the acquisition of biomechanical and physiological signals; conducting a clinical feasibility study.
