Creation, Validation of Pointer for correction of glenoid defects in anatomical and reverse shoulder prosthesis
Project objectives
Most failures in shoulder replacement surgery are attributable to incorrect positioning of the glenoid component. The development of specific patient prostheses aims to reduce this risk by creating templates capable of correcting the defects of the glenoid by positioning the prosthetic component in the best possible way; this eventuality requires an excessive economic effort and a dilation of times (to build the cutting templates). The aim, in this sense, is to create a pointer, which can be inserted in the instruments for shoulder prosthetics, capable of correcting glenoid defects without increasing costs and reducing time.
