Acute postoperative pain management with Zalviso System in Thoracic surgery

Project objectives

To evaluate the efficacy of sublingual sulfentanil in managing postoperative pain in PCA in thoracic surgery. Data will be collected regarding pain intensity according to the NRS (at rest and dynamic), quality of sleep (number of awakenings), pre- and post-operative spirometry, number of doses delivered by the device and required, possible occurrence of drug-related complications (nausea, constipation), number of calls to nursing staff, ease of use, and patient satisfaction.
