Research areas and methodologies

THEGynecology Research Unit works in synergy with the Gynecology Unit of the Campus Biomedico Polyclinic Foundation of Rome which represents a highly specialized structure in the prevention, diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of pathologies of the female reproductive system. The Unit's activity is carried out in cooperation with a multidisciplinary team which involves, in addition to the gynaecologist, various specialists. The main research areas are:

  • New treatment protocols for cervical, ovarian and endometrial cancer
  • Development and research of early diagnosis systems for neoplastic pathologies
  • Minimally invasive surgery in gynecological oncology
  • Preservation and conservation of fertility in subjects with neoplastic pathologies
  • New aspects of diagnostics and hormone replacement therapy in climacteric and post-menopause
  • Pathophysiology and treatment of infertility
  • Molecular mechanisms of dysfunctional and organic endometrial pathology
  • Advanced therapies in pelvic floor reconstructive surgery
  • Diagnosis, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases in gynecology
  • Perspectives in the diagnosis and therapy of viral (HPV) and preneoplastic pathologies of the female genital tract
