Internships

Students of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery who are interested in carrying out an internship abroad are required to:

  • choose the institution where to carry out the internship and check the willingness to be accepted
  • fill in the application form
  • have the coordinator approveUCBM of the reference area and by the coordinator of the area of ​​the host organization the plan of activities indicated in the application form
  • deliver, no later than 45 days from departure, the application form, complete in all its parts, to the International Relations Office ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma
  • wait for the communication with which the Faculty Council authorizes the traineeship abroad
  • within 7 days of returning from mobility, start the credit recognition procedure by delivering to the International Relations Office the certificate of attendance issued by the host institution, with the description of the activity carried out and the total number of internship hours carried out

The internship is recognized, upon return, with the assignment of training credits such as elective teaching or professional internships, provided for in the study plan. The University will recognize one (1) CFU for every 25 hours of internship carried out by the student of the Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery and one (1) CFU for every 30 hours of internship carried out by the student of the Nursing Degree Course.  

Thesis

The following can apply for thesis abroad:

  • graduating students to whom the thesis supervisor has been assigned by the Faculty, who must have approved the carrying out of part of the thesis abroad, at institutions, organizations and/or companies
  • graduating students who have identified a thesis project abroad and ask the Faculty to assign a thesis supervisor interested in the development of this project, taking into account the academic path

We recommend a mobility of no less than two or three months. Students interested in carrying out their thesis abroad are required to:

  • choose the institution where to search for the thesis and check its willingness to be accepted
  • fill in the application form
  • have the work plan indicated in the form approved by the professor of the area and by the host institution
  • no later than 45 days upon departure, deliver the form to the International Relations Office
  • within 7 days of returning from mobility, and in any case no later than 3 weeks from the graduation session, start the credit recognition procedure by delivering the certificate of attendance and the reference letter from the host institution to the International Relations Office, with the description of the activity carried out
