Admission Requirements to our 6-year MD Programme in Medicine and Surgery

EU Citizens

The only candidates who can participate in the enrolment procedure are European citizens and NON - EU citizens regularly resident in Italy  who have obtained or will obtain in the academic year 2021/2022 the High School Diploma or another valid qualification obtained abroad to access to University (in accordance with the provisions published annually by the Ministry of Education, University and Research on the website www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri.

The only valid academic qualification is the one obtained after at least 12 years of schooling. Candidates who have obtained an academic qualification from a foreign school system are required to provide a Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore) issued by the Italian diplomatic representations or, alternatively, a certificate issued by the Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA).

In case the local school system only provides for 11 or 10 years of schooling, the academic qualification is only valid if integrated with one or two years of university.

Admission test for EU citizens: 60 seats for the academic year 2022/2023

The test will be held on March 22nd 2022 at the Nuova Fiera di Roma, there is only one admission test per year. You can register online and check the relevant call for admission here: Admission MAS EU citizens.

The test lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions: Logic (50 questions), Biology (10 questions), Chemistry (10 questions), Mathematics and Physics (10 questions).

The first 60 candidates on the merit ranking are declared winners (achieving the highest score in the test) and will be required to complete their enrollment in the academic year 2022-23. Please refer to the call for admission for further details on the test.

Non-EU Citizens

The only candidates who can participate in the enrolment procedure are the non-EU citizens not resident in Italy, who have obtained or will obtain in the academic year 2021/2022 a valid qualification to access to University in their country of origin (in accordance with the provisions published annually by the Ministry for Education, University and Research on the website www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri).

The only academic qualification is the one obtained after at least 12 years of schooling. Candidates who have obtained an educational qualification from a foreign school system are obliged to provide a Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore) issued by the Italian diplomatic representations or, alternatively, a certificate issued by the Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA).

In case the local school system only provides for 11 or 10 years of schooling, the academic qualification is only valid if integrated with one or two years of university. The Foundation Year course at University Campus Bio-Medico of Roma is also recognised for this purpose, but only if the candidate has passed the relevant exams.

The following candidates are not eligible for selection under this call for admission:

- citizens with dual nationality, i.e. one Italian or another one from another EU country;

- non - EU citizens regularly resident in Italy;

- citizens of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Republic of San Marino and Holy See, shall be treated in the same way as EU citizens.

The above-mentioned candidates must compete in accordance with the terms and conditions set out for admission procedures reserved for EU citizens, published on the website www.unicampus.it/ammissioni.

Admission for non-EU citizens: 30 seats for the academic year 2022/2023

The selective procedure consists in a single test session (entirely in English) as follows:

— a written test (scheduled for 16th March 2022) telematically with remote monitoring The test lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions: Logic (50 questions), Biology (10 questions), Chemistry (10 questions), Mathematics and Physics (10 questions);

— the candidates who are placed in the first 75 positions in the partial merit ranking, based on the score obtained by each candidate in the written test, will be admitted to the oral test (scheduled from 18th March 2022 onwards), also telematically through the use of a video communication platform. The test consists of an interview with an international commission that focuses on the topics as general culture, aptitude and motivation, the ability to argue and convey opinions and to interact optimally in English.

The first 30 candidates on the merit ranking are declared winners (achieving the highest score in the test) and will be required to complete their enrollment in the academic year 2022-23. Please refer to the call for admission for further details on the test.

 

In case of any remaining places, by 21st September 2022, the reallocation procedure will be activated and published on the University’s website http://www.unicampus.it/eng/medicine-and-surgery/admissions. Candidates who meet the requirements set out in the call for admission, i.e. who have passed the BMAT test (2022 and 2021 sessions) or who have been successful in the IMAT test (2022 and 2021 sessions), may take part in this procedure. These candidates must submit their application for the reallocation procedure exclusively online by clicking on the appropriate button published on http://www.unicampus.it/eng/medicine-and-surgery/admissions from 21st September 2022 until 10th October 2022 by 1 P.M. (CET).

Admission Requirements to our Foundation Year Programme (non-EU citizens only)

Only non-EU citizens not residing in Italy who have obtained a foreign academic qualification valid for entry to the University in their country of origin, with at least 11 years of schooling, may participate in the admission process.

Under this Call for Admission, the following are not eligible:

  • a) Candidates with dual nationality, one Italian or from another EU country;
  • b) Non-EU citizens regularly resident in Italy;

c) Citizens from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Republic of San Marino and Holy.

Candidates with the requirements to apply as EU citizens may apply according to the deadlines and procedures established each year in the admission process reserved for EU-citizens and on an equal footing.

Candidates applying for this call violating the above-mentioned citizenship requirements will not be included in the merit ranking.

Submission of applications for the FOUNDATION YEAR

Candidates who intend to pursue the preparatory training course are required to submit the application form exclusively online by clicking on the appropriate button on the admission website.

The registration to the procedure requires:

1. registration on the registration portal and creation of credentials (username and password);

2. confirmation of registration (step 1) through the link that the candidate receives by email;

3. access to the portal with candidate’s credentials and filling in the application form;

4. submission of the application using the "submit" button.

> From 28th January 2022 to 20th April 2022 by 1.00 p.m. (CET) for the first session;

> From 20th May 2022 to 20 th June 2022 by 1.00 p.m. (CET) for the second session (if applicable).

The following documents must be attached to the application:

- Curriculum Vitae

- Motivation letter

- Copy of passport

- Other school/academic certificates

The secondary-school diploma and the Declaration of Value can be submitted at a later stage.

Admission

Admission to the Foundation Year is based on the merit ranking defined according to the school grades achieved by each candidate and calculated as specified below:

- School grades (up to 10 points);

- Online interview based on what stated in the application and verification of knowledge of the English language (up to 30 points).

The merit ranking shall be published by 29th April 2022 for the first session and by 27th June 2022 for the second session (if applicable).
