4th plenary meeting of the European project coordinated by Medtronic Iberica

Appointment at UCBM for the 20 partners of the ODIN project, funded by the European Union and led by #MedtronicIberica: experts from all over Europe to discuss about #Robotics, #AI and #IoT for the development of #SmartHospital more and more #phygital, between the Integration Technology Area #workshop and Technology #showroom.

The project involves our University with the Research Units of Advanced Robotics and Human-Centred Technologies, led by Prof. Loredana Zollo, the Research Unit of Intelligent Health Technology, led by Prof. Leandro Pecchia and the Research Unit of Geriatrics, led by Prof. Raffaele Antonelli Incalzi. ODIN project aims to address many challenges of hospital care thanks to the use of robotic technologies, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

The objective of the project, which involves our University together with other European partners, aims to provide technological solutions capable of reducing the workload of the staff and providing assistance services, in both clinical and logistic fields, for 5 clinical centers distributed in Europe. UCBM is working to develop robotic solutions, which integrate AI approaches and IoT systems, for geriatric patients. With the use of TIAGo robot, researchers are developing solutions aimed at monitoring meal intake - the robot will take care of the delivery of food and observation of the amount of food eaten and the consequent energy calculation of the patient -, at assessing the performance of rehabilitation tasks in bed and support the patient, as well as at monitoring oxygen therapy.

During the 4th project plenary meeting held in these days and hosted by UCBM, experts from all over Europe had the opportunity to visit the Research Units of Advanced Robotics and Human-Centred Technologies and Geriatrics and to be able to attend practical-demonstrative activities of autonomous and collaborative robots.
