Anna Rita Franco Migliaccio
Biografia
I have more than 40 years of experience in research in Experimental Hematology. My training involved three distinctive post-doctoral fellowships with Prof. C. Peschle (Italy), Prof. G. Wagemaker (The Netherlands), Prof. JWA Adamson (USA). I have then co-directed with Prof. Adamson the laboratory of Hematopoietic Growth Factors at the NYBC (New York, NY, USA) for almost 9 years. Here I was responsible for developing GMP procedures to assess the quality of cord blood being stored for transplantation. I established my first independent laboratory in 1998 at the Istituto Superiore di Sanita’, Rome Italy. One of my scientific accomplishments as independent investigator was to identify that mice carrying the hypomorphic Gata1low mutation develops myelofibrosis. This discovery led to my inclusion in the first submission of the PPG on MPN-RC by Ron Hoffman in 2003, funded by the NCI in 2006.
