Admission Requirements to our 6-year MD Programmes in Medicine and Surgery and Medicine and Surgery “MedTech”

EU Citizens

The only candidates who can participate in the enrolment procedure are European citizens and non-EU citizens regularly resident in Italy, who have obtained or will obtain in the academic year 2022/2023 or 2023/2024 the High School Diploma or another valid qualification obtained abroad to access to University (in accordance with the provisions published annually by the Ministry of Education, University and Researchon the website.

Candidates’ Secondary School qualification is deemed as valid if obtained after at least 12 years of schooling and accompanied by the Declaration of Value issued by the Italian diplomatic authorities in their country of origin.

In the event that the local school system is structured in 11 or 10 years of schooling, the qualification is valid only if integrated with one or two years of university and the candidate must provide proof of the successful completion of the required exams for the attended academic years.


Admission test for Europeans:

For each academic year (2023/2024 e 2024/2025), in the following the number of available places:

>  Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery, 60 places;

>  Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery-“MedTech”, 40 places.

The written admission test (entirely in English) lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions as follows: Logic (50 questions), Biology (10 questions), Chemistry (10 questions), Mathematics and Physics (10 questions).

The test will be held on 16th March 2023 at the Nuova Fiera di Roma, there is only one date per year. You can register online and see the relevant call for admission here: Admission MAS EU citizens

The first 60 candidates on the merit ranking (the ones with the highest test score), will be offered a seat. That means they will be required to complete their enrollment in the academic year 2023-24. Please refer to the call for admission for further details on the test.

Non-EU Citizens

The only candidates who can participate in the enrolment procedure are the non-EU citizens not resident in Italy, who have obtained or will obtain in the academic year 2022/2023 a valid qualification to access to University in their country of origin (in accordance with the provisions published annually by the Ministry of Education, University and Research on the website

The following are not eligible for selection under this Call for Admission:

- candidates with dual nationality, one of which is Italian or from another EU country

- non-EU citizens regularly resident in Italy

- citizens of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Republic of San Marino and Holy See, shall be treated in the same way as EU citizens

The above-mentioned candidates must compete in accordance with the terms and conditions set out for Admission procedures reserved for EU citizens and treated as such.

Admission for MAS (non-EU citizens):

Admission to the I year of the Master’s Degree Programmes in Medicine and Surgery and Medicine and Surgery- “MedTech” for the academic year 2023/2024 is regulated by a selective procedure based on the following available places as indicated below. This procedure is reserved for non-european citizens not resident in Italy who need a long stay visa.

  • ­ 30 places available for the Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery;
  • ­ 20 places available for the Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery-“MedTech”.

The written admission test, entirely in English, will be held telematically with remote moritoring on 27th February 2023 at 2.00 p.m. (CET).

The test lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions: Logic (50 questions), Biology (10 questions), Chemistry (10 questions), Mathematics and Physics (10 questions). The programmes relating to the questions are contained in Annex D to this call for admission.


Foundation Year Programme (non-EU citizens only)

Only non-EU citizens not residing in Italy who have obtained a foreign academic qualification valid for entry to the University in their country of origin, with at least 11 years of schooling, may participate in the admission process.

Under this Call for Admission, the following are not eligible:

a) Candidates with dual nationality, one Italian or from another EU country

b) Non-EU citizens regularly resident in Italy

c) Citizens from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the Republic of San Marino and Holy

Candidates applying for this call violating the above-mentioned citizenship requirements will not be included in the merit ranking.
