Also this year our University will participate in the European Researchers' Night scheduled for Friday 30 September 2022. The project presented by Frascati Scienza to the European Commission continues last year's LEAF - heaL thE plAnet's Future, for the care of the future of the planet.

We will be present with the demonstration of some activities of our laboratories.

In particular, the faculty of Science and Technology for Man and the Environment with:

Food sciences, supply chain management, biodiversity

The Faculty of Sciences and Technologies for Man and the Environment offers some practical/demonstrative research activitiesUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in the field of food science, supply chain management and biodiversity. The aspects related to the use of sensors for the analysis of the antioxidant power of foods will be presented; the application of innovative techniques used for the characterization of microbial biodiversity; the valorization of food products and waste products from agri-food chains. There will be three activities and they include a path that starts from the analysis of foods through innovative methods based on sensors capable of distinguishing and recognizing different products, the evaluation of innovative methodologies for the identification of microbial components and technological and analytical approaches for the valorization of waste products.

The activities will be divided into three thematic areas of chemical analysis and through sensors of food matrices, molecular analysis of the genome of microorganisms, and extraction and valorisation of waste products from the production of such foods:

1) Analysis of the antioxidant power of foods and sensors for food matrices; 2) Application of innovative techniques used for the characterization of microbial biodiversity; 3) Enhancement of by-products of beer production

The degree program in Chemical Engineering with:

Activity: the second life of waste

In line with the principles of the circular economy, which strongly support the reuse of secondary raw materials for environmental protection purposes, the proposed activity will concern the application of waste materials derived from the agro-food industry for water treatment. In particular, a working laboratory-scale adsorption column will be shown which will continuously remove the dye (Methylene Blue) from water. The activity will be accompanied by a popular explanation of the physical principle of the phenomenon.

The movement analysis laboratory together with the measurement laboratory with:

"Oculus quest for virtual reality rehabilitation"

Virtual Reality is an innovative and promising approach for cognitive-motor rehabilitation. The Movement Analysis Laboratory of the Medicine and Surgery Faculty together with the Measurements Laboratory of the Engineering Faculty will present interventions that use Virtual Reality for upper limb rehabilitation.

Anyone can participate by filling out a form for each of these 3 programs and respectively:
