THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma organizes the conference "Applications of robotics and bionics in the healthcare sector: new technologies in the healthcare sector", held mainly by professors and researchers of the University.
On the first day, the University Researcher of Human Physiology G. Di Pino and Full Professor of Forensic Medicine V. Tambone (both from UCBM) will discuss the use of robotics in neuroscience and the introduction to the ethics of robotics. In this case the interlocutors will explain the importance of neuro-robotics as a primary source of inspiration for devising new medical solutions.
The following day instead, remaining in the field of robotics, in the first place the Rehabilitation Bioengineer and Researcher N. Tagliamonte of the Santa Lucia IRCCS Foundation in Rome will show us the use of robotics in the neurorehabilitation field. Followed by researchers and professors of the University, including R. Papalia university researcher in urology, M. Coassin associate professor of ophthalmology and D. Borzomati associate professor of General Surgery, will discuss the new technological frontiers of urological surgery, the technological evolutions adopted in retinal surgery and robotic applications in general surgery.
The conference will aim to show how robotics has fully entered the disciplines of bioengineering, so that it can be applied in the biomedical field for research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and assistance. A university training credit will be assigned to the participants.
