Development of an intraoperative coronary shunt positioner for beating heart coronary bypass surgery
Project objectivesThe object of the innovation is a disposable surgical instrument that automates and simplifies a complex maneuver during coronary bypass surgery performed with a beating heart. The traditional procedure, which this device intends to replace, requires the surgeon in training to learn a long time. The aim of the project is to create the surgical instrument called "intraoperative coronary shunt positioner". The device is based on a coaxial mechanism that expels the shunt, contained in it in a folded form, allowing it to distension in the coronary artery. It must be produced in various sizes and in sterile disposable form. It is a completely new product, which does not exist on the market. |
