La Giuseppina Mai Foundation, with the support of system partners (Assolombarda-Associazione STEAMiamoci, Chiesi Farmaceutici, Confindustria, Farmindustria, Fastweb + Vodafone, Federchimica, Fondazione Bracco, Space Work, Streparava) launches the fourth edition of the call “Women in STEM”The initiative is aimed at female students enrolled in the first year of a master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The initiative stems from the recognition that, although women represent the majority of new university students in Italy, their proportion is still lower than that of men. Supporting female students in these fields not only promotes gender equality but also invests in the future of innovation and research.

STEM disciplines today represent strategic areas for the country's development, with a high demand for specialized skills; however, female participation in these fields remains limited.
