In response to the crisis generated by Covid-19, the European Union, as part of the Recovery Assistance Package for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe (REACT EU), has adopted a series of measures that have affected the entire national territory aimed at strengthening human capital.
Among these, action IV. 1 "Extraordinary expenses for the acquisition of healthcare personnel for the purposes of combating the crisis in healthcare services as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic" included in the National Operational Research and Innovation Program it has designated 210 million to finance two years of 4200 specialist training contracts for doctors throughout Italy.
Within theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, 39 postgraduates from 26 different specialization schools have benefited from the support of the European Union in each of the academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, strengthening the provision of competent personnel of the Italian health services, for a total amount of 1.950.000,00 euros.
