Born in Rome in 1977, he obtained a degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida and a PhD in Materials for the 'Environment and Energy at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".
Since 2022 he has been a TD University Researcher, pursuant to art. 24, paragraph 3, letter b) of Law 240/2010, for the competitive sector 09/D1 - Materials Science and Technology - scientific-disciplinary sector ING- IND/22 - Materials Science and Technology, at the Departmental Faculty of Engineering of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
His research activity is mainly aimed at the synthesis and characterization of innovative bioactive nanoparticles and bio-mimetic biomaterials, at the fabrication and characterization of non-woven woven fibers by electrospinning techniques for tissue engineering, for antimicrobial applications and in the sensor field. Furthermore, he has been involved in the development of innovative techniques for the fabrication of engineered constructs exploiting both additive manufacturing techniques and microfluidic or micro-fabrication systems. Within these activities he has participated in numerous research projects both at national and international level. He is the author of more than 45 papers in journals with impact factor.
Full Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bergen (until June 2023). Head of the Philosophy of Science and Human Development research unit. He carries out research activities in various fields of philosophy, epistemology, ethics and the sciences of complexity and life, with a production of over 100 works including volumes and articles.
Mauro Capocelli is an Associate Professor of Chemical Industrial Plants and Processes at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, a position he has held since 2020. He earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2013 and joined the university in 2015 as a researcher in process engineering. His research focuses on the modeling and analysis of sustainable industrial processes, with particular emphasis on water–energy integration, carbon capture and utilization, hydrogen production, and desalination technologies within the energy transition framework.
He teaches courses on Integrated Water–Energy Processes and Advanced Chemical Plants, linking fundamental process engineering with industrial and environmental applications.
Full Professor of Mathematical Physics at the Departmental Faculty of Sciences and Technologies for Sustainable Development and One Health, Campus Bio-Medico University (UCBM) of Rome, carries out research activities in the fields of the study of non-linearity, mainly oriented towards biophysical systems, and of General Relativity with the production of more than one hundred scientific papers, published both in journals with impact factor and as conference articles and book chapters.
Professor of Chemical Plants, he is present at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma since 2010, where he is responsible for the Research Unit "Process Engineering".
