CasAmica in the year of Mercy
Will CasAmica offer? on May 21, 2016 to hundreds of people, including many guests of shelters, an extraordinary opportunity? to live the experience of the Jubilee. The Association for 30 years and? committed to supporting cancer patients and their families. Thanks to support from the Italian State Railways Foundation, steam train from the s, from Termini station in Rome, porter? in the Vatican 500 people who will have the opportunity? to cross the Holy Door and visit St. Peter's Basilica.
The Association hosted around 70 people from all over Italy in Milan and, for some months now, has undertaken the renovation of a large house in the vicinity of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital of Rome.
On the occasion of the extraordinary year of Mercy and in consideration of availability? of the heads of ecclesiastical institutions, with this initiative CasAmica intends to bring to the attention of the country the enormous suffering and difficulties? who meet 400 health pilgrims every year in Italy.
Programme
At 9.00 on May 21st, the train of the Ferrovie dello Stato Foundation made up of 6 carriages from 1928 and hauled by a steam locomotive from 1918, will leave? Termini Station, track 11, to get to the Citta Station? of the Vatican after 45 minutes of travel.
Will it be reached once in the Vatican? walk there Saint Peter Basilica passing in front of the Residence of Santa Marta and then, through the Holy Door, in front of the Pieta? of Michelangelo the participants will receive the greeting and blessing of His Eminence Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi.
Afterwards, while the families will be able to visit the Vatican Radio Museum, will we land? a conference entitled: “Beauty will save? the world, let's save beauty”, with the participation of the Minister of Assets and Activities? cultural and tourism, Dario Franceschini and of the President of the Pontifical Council for Culture Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi.
