In 2016, the University Hospital underwent a transformation of the existing plant and technological park, with the creation of new environments and the installation of machines in step with the state of the art of energy production plants from non-renewable sources. Thus was born the Trigeneration Plant, in function das at 30 November 2016 under the control of the Technical Area and with the collaboration of the contractor company for the works and maintenance. The plant is designed to operate at full load for approximately 8000 hours per year.
The combined production of electricity and heat makes it possible to:
- optimize the use of raw materials
- reduce energy losses
- receive tax breaks
- achieve economic savings.
