UCBM organize theInternational Workshop on Understanding Complexity in Life Sciences which will have as its object the increasingly massive presence of high-performance technologies and computational sciences in biological research. This approach, supported by both scientific results and industrial interests, is leading science towards a crossroads: will the life sciences be able to understand complex biological functions using only technology, big data and artificial intelligence? Should new theoretical frameworks and mathematical models be developed to guide experiments and data interpretation? Or, more likely, is it necessary to integrate the two approaches?
The workshop aims to trace the main scenarios and analyze the concrete case of the Organ-on-Chip approach.
