TaTME is the most innovative surgical technique in the treatment of rectal cancer, and is able to make surgery safer and more effective in at least some cases. This method is receiving great interest from colorectal surgeons worldwide. For the first time in Italy a congress is dedicated exclusively to the analysis of TaTME. The panel of speakers includes some of the best-known international and Italian protagonists who have developed it and spread it worldwide: among others, Dr. Antonio Lacy, Chief of Gastrointestinal Surgery Department of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and president of AIS Channel, Dr. Patricia Sylla of the Mount Sinai Clinical Center of New York (NY), Prof. Albert Wolthuis of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), and numerous other Italian and foreign speakers.
As part of the congress, which will have a distinctly didactic and practical approach and for which we have requested ECM accreditation, a live surgery session will take place in the Operating Theaters of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, and a video forum in which all Speakers are invited to present problems and difficulties gathered from their own experience.
