The Simple Operational Unit of Clinical Medicine and Hepatology of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital organizes Run for Liver, a free meeting for those who care about their liver health. The meeting will open with medical reports, continue with nutritional and sporting advice and conclude with a running lesson. The scientific event is sponsored by the Ministry of Health, the Italian Foundation for Research in Hepatology (FIRE) and the EPAC association of hepatopathic patients.

The specialists of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital will be dedicated to illustrating the importance of a healthy lifestyle in the prevention and treatment of pathologies related to fatty liver and metabolic syndrome.

The program begins with the scientific interventions of prof. Antonio Picardi, head of the Simple Operational Unit of Clinical Medicine and Hepatology and of the hepatologists Dr. Giovanni Galati and dr. Umberto Vespasiani Gentilucci. The contribution of the prof will follow. Germano Di Sciascio, coordinator of the Cardio Center, on the relationship between liver pathologies and cardiovascular risk. Dr. will then also speak. Dario Tuccinardi, endocrinologist and diabetologist, who will illustrate the relationship between fatty liver and diabetes.

From 10.30 we will talk about the importance of sport and nutrition for the prevention of liver diseases. The value of physical exercise to normalize weight and cholesterol - with a benefit on cardiovascular and cerebral risks - will be told by dr. Italo Napoleoni (Osteopath and Physical Education teacher).

The nutritionist, Dr Manon Khazrai, will explain how much a healthy diet influences and how to act on eating habits that cause you to consume a quantity of food greater than your actual consumption and needs.

It will be possible to participate in a running lesson, reserved for the first 20 registered in the "events" section of the site.
