It is not a new phenomenon that the arts have insights that precede scientific development by decades or even centuries. What is perhaps new is that the science can today provide tools for a better understanding of artistic phenomena, and may even provide new tools to increase artistic creativity.
The second symposium on "Art and Science" aims to explore some examples of fruitful interaction between art and science, starting from painting and music.
