Prof. Roberto Guida
Full Professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries - Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma
Purpose
The University Specialization Course in "Data Architect" is part of the Innovation & Sustainability (I&S) Project, promoted byUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in partnership with Marzotto Venture Accelerator.
Educational objectives
The course is focused on methodologies and tools for design, integration, quality and improvement of data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence).
In particular, the architectures and technologies of distributed systems and data systems, data model methodologies and techniques will be explored.ing and processing, cloud systems and methods of administration, management and development of data systems.
The path combines the technical-specialist skills with the learning of transversal and behavioral skills (soft skills) of Leadership & Teamwork crucial for the figure of the Data Architect.

Course structure
The course is structured in 6 modules, each lasting 2 days.
The teaching structure of the course is given below:
MODULE | DESCRIPTION | ECTS |
ARCHITECTURE AND TECHNOLOGIES OF DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS | The module provides the theoretical and practical tools for the design, implementation and analysis of distributed systems. The module deals with the main issues relating to the architecture and technological solutions underlying the distributed systems of enterprise-company solutions, the implementation trade-offs and the analysis and evaluation techniques of such systems. | 2 |
DATA SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE AND TECHNOLOGIES | The module provides the theoretical and practical tools for the design and implementation of data management systems, starting from traditional systems in an enterprise environment and arriving at the solutions adopted in modern management systems and unstructured data analysis and from heterogeneous sources. | 2 |
MODEL DATEING AND PROCESSING | The module provides the theoretical tools and technical skills for modeling and data processing. The module is delivered by alternating the formalization of data model approachesing to their concrete application in case studies, in order to accompany the learner in the construction of theoretical models solidly anchored to concrete problems. | 2 |
CLOUD SYSTEMS | The module offers an overview of the main Cloud technologies currently available for solving the most frequent distributed application problems, with a focus on data management, manipulation, analysis, collection and distribution solutions. Case study discussions are scheduled during the module. | 2 |
ADMINISTRATION, MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF DATA SYSTEMS | The module provides the technical tools and knowledge for the management and development of data systems. The module is delivered by alternating the description of management and development approaches to their concrete application in case studies; the objective is to transfer to the learner the management practices commonly used in the operational environment. | 2 |
MCL (MANAGER, COACH, LEADER) SOFT SKILLS LAB | The module will allow the learner to acquire skills regarding:
- Energy management and stress management in times of uncertainty. |
2 |
PROJECT WORK | Preparation and presentation of the project work at the end of the course | 3 |
TOTAL CFUs | 15 |
Teaching methodology
The Course will be delivered in Phygital mode which combines the online and offline worlds trying to take the best aspects of each to create a more complete and satisfying customer experience.
Title issued and certification
The learners who complete the course with the discussion of the final Project Work and who comply with the administrative obligations will be awarded the title of specialization in "Data Architect" to which 15 credits are attributed.
Those who do not discuss the final Project Work will be issued a certificate of participation in the Executive Course in "Data Architect".
