The professor. Paolo Pozzilli comments on the increase in applications UCBM on Indire

August 10, 2020 – The number of Erasmus candidates for the next academic year is growing despite the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The result of a study conducted byErasmus+ National Agency Indire which collected the numbers relating to the applications of university students presented in the Higher Education Institutes of Lazio.

L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma records a +136,4% with 26 applications for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Indire, National Institute for Documentation of Innovation and Educational Research, interviewed Prof. Paolo Pozzilli, President of the Master's Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery UCBM e Filippo Cucinella, student in the fourth year of the Medicine and Surgery Course UCBM so that they could comment on the result obtained by the University.

"We have tried to highlight the positive impact that theexperience of mobility has in the intercultural, individual and professional growth of each of them.
The result, however, is a piece of one wider internationalization strategy of the University: one of the objectives identified in the strategic plan for internationalization 2021-2027 is to further develop the network of foreign universities, in order to encourage both incoming and outgoing mobility. Identifying partners with whom to share a training course and not just planning a mobility exchange is a stimulus for our university to invest above all in quality of agreements rather than quantity"  commented Prof. Pozzilli in the interview.

The Erasmus+ program allows any student to grow by dealing with other social, cultural and academic realities other than the Italian one. "It's a virtuous circle: the greater the number of students who tell about their Erasmus experience, the greater the number of students who will try to live it. For our part, we will continue to promote participation in the Program through individual interviews, dedicated events (such as last year's Erasmus Days, which attracted considerable participation) and other internal and external communication initiatives in which we will try to give maximum visibility precisely to the direct testimonials from our students. Finally, our Erasmus students represent the best ambassadors in promoting the image of our University abroad both among students and professors" added the professor.
