Academic achievement and extracurricular activities are the selection criteria

December 2, 2015 - Reward merit. This is the objective of the proclamation of the best students UCBM, which took place on Wednesday 9 November during the inauguration ceremony of the new academic year. A moment desired by the Rector and which saw 9 young protagonists, awarded by Dr. Francis Luccisano, Chief Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, University and Research.

In the previous weeks, the selection criteria had been established by the Committees of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and of Engineering, then proceeding with the analysis of the data acquired by the Student Secretariat and finally with interviews with possible candidates, to identify the most deserving. Regularity of studies (i.e. being regularly enrolled and in progress in the 2014/2015 academic year and having taken all the scheduled exams by the end of the summer recovery session), arithmetic mean of the exams taken (in the event of a tie, discriminating the number of honors obtained), but also extra-curricular activities carried out (volunteering, sport, work to finance studies, extra-curricular studies), in line with the Charter of Principles of the University and with the mission of Study Programmes: these in particular are the criteria adopted to identify the winners.

On the morning of November 9, they were therefore to receive the band and plate Fabio Valletta for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Lorenzo DeMarchi for the Degree Course in Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy, Frances Pianca for the degree course e Flavia Pizzabiocca for the Master's Degree Course in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences, Luke Ambrosio for the first three years e Michelle Sterpi for the second three-year period of the single-cycle Master's Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery (the latter, for example, as a working student), Albert Hippolytus for the Degree Course in Industrial Engineering, Rosa Sicilia for the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Federico De Cesaris for the Master's Degree Course in Chemical Engineering for Sustainable Development. To all of them a long round of applause from the entire University.
