Scientific and didactic collaboration in various sectors
4 March, 2021 - Professor Sergio Caputi, Rector of the “Gabriele d'Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, the Rector ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, professor Raffaele Calabrò and the General Director UCBM, doctor Andrea Rossihave signed an important scientific and educational collaboration agreement in the capital.
According to the agreement that has just been signed, the two Universities will collaborate in specific sectors, starting from some topics of mainly common interest, such as in particular: innovative biomedical technologies for the analysis of human pathophysiology and the development of advanced solutions for functional recovery and replacement, and for assisting independent living; artificial intelligence for health and life sciences, also with reference to the national research doctorate program on this specific topic; tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; biomedical robotics; translational, pre-clinical and clinical research for the development of new medical devices.
<<The "d'Annunzio"- explains the Rector, Sergio Caputi - is promoting a development plan in the field of technologies for human health which has seen the establishment of the new three-year degree program in "Biomedical Engineering". This plan also envisages the development of a greater relationship with the medical and biological component, both locally and with other Italian centers specialized in medicine and bioengineering. After a series of meetings and discussions with the rector of theUCBM, Professor Calabrò, we have found the common interest of our University and of UCBM to develop targeted collaborations on issues specific to bioengineering and on specific high-profile scientific initiatives. Their feasibility and implementation will significantly benefit from the sharing of all the critical mass of experience and resources that the two universities already have at their disposal. To these may be further added those attracted by the respective national and international networks. Hence the will formalized today in our agreement - underlines Rector Caputi - to share the interest in developing a broad and direct collaboration in teaching and in scientific and third mission activities that fall within the fields of bioengineering, medicine and life sciences, then leaving open the prospect of proceeding in further areas of common interest. I think this agreement is a great opportunity not only for the teachers and researchers of "d'Annunzio" but also and above all for our students>>.
<<THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma - highlights the Rector ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Teacher Raffaele Calabrò – is dedicating particular attention and commitment to supporting, on a national and international scale, the development of knowledge in the areas that have the greatest impact on the quality of life of people and the environment with a view to investing in the younger generations of students, researchers and solutions born from the interaction with the productive world in favor of sustainable development. From biomedical engineering to chemical engineering for sustainable development, to living and working environments thanks to training on artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, - continues the Rector Calabrò - L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma is particularly happy to develop shared growth paths for the country system through the training of young people and the shared implementation, as with the “Gabriele d'Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, of research and third mission initiatives also in those sectors in which the business world is particularly hungry for specific professionalism that it struggles to find in our country and which can constitute a driving force of value for our territories, such as the managerial development of food supply chains>>.
