Google has announced the two Italian projects that will receive the funding provided by Google.org Impact Challenge: Tech for Social Good related to cybersecurity. One will be developed byUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma together with the Polytechnic of Milan, the other from Libraries Without Borders Italy.
The winners intend to engage in the fight against cyber attacks and the online misinformation, priority aspects for people, companies and organizations of all sizes.
"The objective of the project which will carry forward theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma - explained the professor. Roberto Setola, Director of Master in Cybersecurity Management and research coordinator - It is to create a system which, by exploiting Artificial Intelligence, is able to help SMEs in the event of an attack by indicating the strategies and actions to be adopted to minimize damage, promote a rapid restoration of normality and limit inconveniences to own customers".
In fact, cybersecurity represents a systemic problem and requires specialized and expensive knowledge that many of Italy's 3,6 million small and medium-sized businesses cannot afford or do not have equal access to. The project therefore aims to support over 300.000 SMEs, contributing to reduce cyber attacks by 30% and improve awareness by 20%. of such threats from employees.
