Women are on average more attentive to prevention than men. They undergo recommended checks more frequently and often pay more attention to the signals that the body sends when something is wrong. Unfortunately, the scenario determined by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has caused a slowdown in the implementation of screening programs and this has had an impact on the early diagnosis of many pathologies, including female ones (AIOM 2021 data). For this reason, today it is an absolute priority to keep attention high on all diseases and to continue investing in prevention, scientific research, assistance and care for each individual. In line with these needs, theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma offers all women the opportunity to acquire knowledge in the field of female prevention. The training journey for gynecological prevention entitled "Knowoman, the importance of being a woman" started on Wednesday 28 September 2022, a series of meetings organized by UCBM Academy in collaboration with the Complex Gynecology Operational Unit of the Campus Bio-Medico University Polyclinic Foundation directed by prof. Roberto Angioli. “Let's explain women to women. We will explore the world of gynecology together to provide knowledge and awareness of the pathologies that most affect the female genital system with the aim of their prevention and treatment.
The series of lessons is carried out in coherence with the European Plan to Fight Cancer which aims to reverse the trend regarding this disease and take another step forward towards a strong European Health Union and a safer, better prepared EU and more resilient” explains the prof. Angels.
An educational journey to care for oneself and one's body through the life of a woman: ovarian cycle, menopause, endometriosis but also many false myths to dispel are just some of the topics on the programme. The course is totally free and divided into 9 online webinars lasting 45 minutes each.
