Between music and words, the homily "Passionately loving the world" becomes a theatrical performance
3 May 2019 - It's the voice of St. Josemaría Escrivá to break into the silence of the Aula Magna of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma where, with the lights off, hundreds of people await the start of the theatrical show "Loving the World Passionately", on the afternoon of May 3rd.
“Isn't it true that this look at what we have around us confirms – with a vivid and unforgettable image – that ordinary life is the true 'place' of your Christian existence? My children, there where your brother men are, there where your aspirations, your work are, there where your love is poured out, that is the place of your daily encounter with Christ. It is in the midst of the most material things on earth that we must sanctify ourselves, serving God and all men".
Turn the light on Blacks Marcorè which opens the re-reading of the historic homily delivered by St. Josemaría Escrivá on the campus of the University of Navarre on October 8, 1967. These are strong, charismatic words that after 50 years reveal the great modernity and relevance of the message of the founder of Opus Dei , which invites us to be saints in ordinary life.
At the event hosted by the presenter Flavio Insinna attended by staff, students of the University as well as personalities from the world of entertainment and friends.
"There cannot be a double life, we cannot be like schizophrenics, if we want to be Christians: there is only one life, made of flesh and spirit, and it is this which must be - in body and soul - holy and full of God. We find this invisible God in the most visible and material things”. This time it is Edoardo De Angelis who interprets another passage of the famous text, accompanied by the guitarist Massimo de Lorenzi.
Touching the performance of the Magnificat by Tosca, also a participant in this original artistic journey: "I assure you, my children, that when a Christian carries out the least transcendent daily activities with love, the transcendence of God overflows in them", reads the singer.
In addition to words and music, the experience was enriched by some films about St. Josemaría and his first successor, the blessed Álvaro del Portillo, which gave impetus to the creation of apostolic works throughout the world, including theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
