A truck simulator for doctors, residents and students
June 3, 2022 - A day dedicated to structured and training doctors, who were able to practice and refine their surgical skills through the use of high-fidelity simulators. For the first time in Italy, on Wednesday 1st June it was set up in the square between PRABB and Trapezio dell'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma a mobile surgical simulation laboratory in different fields. The modularity of the systems has allowed students and residents to practice in different surgical disciplines such as laparoscopy, arthroscopy, gynecology and urology using a single platform.
These new technologies, developed by Accurate (leading Italian company in medical simulation) e Virtamed (Swiss company focused on high technology in surgery), the ways of training are changing. Thanks to learning in simulation, it is possible to improve not only the speed but also the quality of the final results of surgical interventions, be they of orthopedics, gynecology, urology, cardiology or visceral surgery.
Through structured and simulated training, it is indeed possible significantly avoid complications and errors committed by novice surgeons in the operating room on patients. The mobile laboratory surgical simulators are equipped with a innovative cloud platform Connect™ which records the progress and results of the students throughout the training in order to objectively measure and analyze the skills of each student with respect to pre-set standards. A system that allows you to make mistakes in total safety and repeat the procedures until you get satisfactory results, all without ever harming any patient.
