2000 – 2003 Permanent university researcher in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma;

1993‐ Training period at the Antiviral Therapeutic Research Unit directed by Dr. Brendan Larder of the Wellcome Foundation Ltd Research Laboratories in Beckenam, London;

1995‐Training period at the Department of Public Infectious Experimental Biomedicine of the University of Pisa to learn new molecular biology techniques concerning the hepatitis C virus;

2001‐Training period as Researcher at the Retrovirus Center, Department of public infectious experimental biomedicine of the University of Pisa.
