Prof. Mario Tombini

Biography

Associate Professor for the scientific-disciplinary sector MED 26/ Neurology.

He is author/coauthor of more than 100 articles published in Med-Line, 4 book chapters.

H-index: 32 (Scopus); 31 (Web of Science).

He carries out research in the field of chronic neurological disorders, in particular epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and sleep disorders, and more generally in clinical neurophysiology, applied to the study of various neurological diseases (including cerebrovascular diseases).

In conclusion, his research activity has focused on these topics:

1) Epilepsy and sleep disorders;

2) Clinical Neurophysiology (in particular Electroencephalogeaphy - EEG, Magnetoencephalography - MEG and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation - TMS);

3) Dementias and Alzheimer's disease;

4) Stroke;

5) Mechanisms of brain plasticity following brain damage.

Head of the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory, and in particular of the Electroencephalography and related techniques service, as well as Evoked Potentials.

Head of Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Epilepsy Epilepsy from 2019 to 2021.
