Prof. Pierantonio Menna

Biography

Prof. Pierantonio Menna is an Italian clinical pharmacologist. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1999 from the University of Chieti-Pescara, where he received his PhD in Aging Sciences. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral training period at the Center of Excellence in Aging Research (CESI) at the University of Chieti and, between 2004 and 2005, he held a Research Fellowship at the Cancer Pharmacology Center – Mass Spectrometry Unit of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2015, he specialized in Medical Pharmacology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In 2007, he joined theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di RomaHe was a pharmacologist member of the Ethics Committee of the Campus Bio-Medico University in the period 2019-2022. Since June 2021 he has held the role of Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Departmental Faculty of Sciences and Bio-Technologies of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di RomaIn 2025, he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of Full Professor in the 05/G1 Competitive Sector - Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Pharmacognosy. He is currently Deputy Director of the School of Specialization in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology at the same university. His research and clinical activity focuses primarily on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenetics, with a strong focus on precision medicine. He is the author of over seventy scientific publications indexed in PubMed, as well as numerous book chapters and presentations at national and international conferences.
