Quantitative, Radiomic and Pathomic Approach for Personalized Oncology in Patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Project objectives
The project's goal is to use radiomics, the automatic extraction of quantitative parameters from radiological images using computerized algorithms, and pathomics, the automatic extraction of quantitative parameters from histological images using computerized algorithms, correlating them with the genetic characteristics of non-small cell lung cancer, to identify biomarkers capable of predicting the prognosis of these patients. This involves developing a system that, starting from objective data obtained from CT scans and the histological findings of biopsies performed on patients with locally advanced lung cancer, can predict each patient's response to surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. This allows for the most effective treatment to be chosen on a case-by-case basis based on each patient's unique characteristics.
