Robotic system to support upper and lower limb rehabilitation
Project objectivesThe SIRASI project aims to encourage valorisation, in collaboration with the innovative start-up ICan Robotics Srl, of skills and technologies already matured and developed within the research units involved. The ultimate object of SIRASI is theingengineering of an innovative system integrating robotic technologies, capable of assisting the therapist in the rehabilitation of both the upper and lower limbs, usable both on patients in an upright and supine position. The activities planned within the project have been identified not only for achieving the main objective (theingengineering of the rehabilitation platform) but also to develop a collaboration method that can facilitate the systematization of the partners' expertise, with the aim of reducing the gap between research and market. This second purpose, having a strategic and cultural connotation, broadens the reaching and the impact of the project beyond the specific object, as it aims to create a long-lasting synergy, with the benefit of all those involved. From this perspective, the robotic platform that constitutes the main object of SIRASI can also be understood as a demonstrator of innovation capacity, constituting a useful test bed for refining collaboration methods. |
