Robotic system to support upper and lower limb rehabilitation
Project objectivesThe SIRASI project aims to encourage valorisation, in collaboration with the innovative start-up ICan Robotics Srl, of skills and technologies already matured and developed within the research units involved. The ultimate goal of SIRASI is the engineering of an innovative system integrating robotic technologies, capable of assisting the therapist in the rehabilitation of both the upper and lower limbs, usable on both upright and supine patients. The activities envisaged within the project have been identified not only to achieve the main objective (the engineering of the rehabilitation platform) but also to develop a collaboration method that can facilitate the systemisation of the partners' expertise, with the aim of reducing the gap between research and the market. This second aim, having a strategic and cultural connotation, broadens the reach and impact of the project beyond the specific object, as it aims to create a lasting synergy over time, with the benefit of all the subjects involved. From this point of view, the robotic platform that constitutes the main object of SIRASI can also be understood as a demonstrator of the capacity for innovation, constituting a useful test bed for refining the methods of collaboration. |
