At the end of the training course, the specialist in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology must have acquired scientific knowledge and practical-professional skills regarding:

  • pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic and pharmaco-toxicological properties of the main groups of drugs and narcotics
  • main diagnostic procedures for the interpretation of laboratory tests
  • interpretation of toxicological effects and setting of therapeutic interventions in acute and chronic intoxications, in drug addictions and in pharmacotoxicological emergencies
  • knowledge of the methodologies relating to the clinical and preclinical testing of drugs as well as of the rules and procedures for the marketing authorization of drugs, including the activity of the ethics committees for human testing

Access requirements

  • Master's degree in Biology (Class LM6);
  • Master's degree in Medical, veterinary and pharmaceutical biotechnology (Class LM9);
  • Master's degree in Industrial Biotechnology (Class LM8);
  • Master's degree in Agricultural and food biotechnology (Class LM7);
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy (Class LM13);
  • Master's degree in Chemistry (Class LM54);
  • Specialist degrees or four-year degrees of the old system equivalent to those reported above pursuant to DI 5.5.2004 and DI 9.7.2009.

The candidate is admitted to the competitive tests for admission to the School on condition that he or she is qualified to practice the profession by the deadline for submitting the application. However, candidates who undertake to obtain the qualification no later than the first exam session following the actual start of the courses can participate "under condition".

Mandatory attendance

Attendance of lessons and professional activities is mandatory and is considered acquired with participation in at least 75% of each training activity.

 

Final Exam

Those who have passed the final exam will be awarded the Specialization Diploma in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology.

For graduates in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, qualified and registered with the Order, equivalence to the title of Specialist in Hospital Pharmacy is valid.
